A place where aggression becomes playful and perversion becomes aesthetic.
“Cute aggression” describes the paradoxical impulse to respond to something adorable with a sudden urge to squeeze, bite or even destroy it. What appears as affection is often intertwined with aggression.
Cute Aggression is a performance that explores our inner drive toward aggression and transgression. Rather than suppressing these impulses, the work investigates how destruction, fascination and beauty can coexist.
Where does the desire for intimacy cross into violence?
Can violence become aesthetic?
Why are we drawn to images and actions we know are ethically disturbing?
Through physical theatre and choreographed action, the performance examines the unstable boundary between attraction and repulsion, tenderness and brutality.
